Karen Soehnle BA (Hons)
I used Makaton for many years in my role as a Course Director and lecturer in a local further education college, where I taught students with learning difficulties/disabilities for nearly 20 years.
Using Makaton with my students had a positive impact on their lives; increasing their communication skills, improves their confidence and self esteem, and helping to develop their independent living skills.
I am passionate about using Makaton and this passion drove me to become a regional Makaton tutor; enabling me to share my passion for inclusion and this unique language programme.
I currently use my Makaton skills working two day's a week with adults in a day centre setting and teaching Makaton face to face and online and SENCo levels 3 & 4 for QUEST direct professional services in Dubai.
